How Real Estate Commission Works





How much is real estate commission?

Typically, real estate commission is 5%–6% of the home’s sale price. But in most areas we just receives 2.5%–3% commission – it´s variable and up to the property and the place.


Who pays the commission?

If you are buying or renting a property, you have to pay 2.5% commission and you still have to pay closing costs for all contracts and papers they are needed.

On the other hand, if you are selling a home you pay a variable commission up to the property and the place


Can you negotiate commission fees?

Sometimes we can handle discounts for the comission fees for some special propertys. But normal the comission fees are fixed.


Do you have to pay commission if you don’t buy or rent a home?

We get paid at the end of the process, so if you don’t buy or rent a home, you don´t have to pay for using our services.


Do you have to pay commission if your property doesn’t sell?

Short answer: No! – We get paid when we sell your real estate, so if we doesn’t sell, you don´t have to pay any commission fees.


Bottom line

Generally, your contract with AT-RealEstate bound to a certain time period. Typical if the contract expires and your property doesn’t sell you don´t have to pay any comission fees.

However, there may be some exceptions; for example:

  • We found the buyer: Our contracts state that you still owe your commission fees after the contract period ends if your buyer was a prospect during the term of our contract.

  • You back out of the sale: After an offer is accepted, you are responsible for paying commission to us immediately. If you decide to back out of the sale last minute, you still have to pay the commission, no different you like to finish or cancel the deal.
